Impact Assessment Series: Social Impact Assessment

Policies, plans and projects affect people, who in turn get stressed out by the uncertainties to be brought about, even though the intentions are good.    The beauty of social impact assessment (SIA) is to enable the proponents of policies/plans/projects to anticipate possible consequences, make informed decisions and arrange early measures to positively affect people’s lives.  It helps to get the best interest for the community and reach win-win solutions.

In this issue, let’s learn about SIA.  If interested, members are encouraged to dig into the framework / guidelines mentioned in the videos for further education.  Lastly, don’t miss the last video which reminds us that each of us has a dream that keeps us in this profession!
