The Hong Kong Institute of Planners International Planning Conference 2025 is to showcase planning practices and significant development plans from around the world. Themed “Urban Horizons: Shaping the Future of Global Cities” exploring innovative, feasible, and sustainable urban planning and management solutions within a range of trending planning topics. Cases studies sharing from various international project teams involving urban planning and AI implementation will be covered.

On the following days, HKIP will organise City Tours in Hong Kong on 9 May 2025 (Friday) and a Professional Tour in Zhuhai on 10 to 11 May 2025 (Saturday and Sunday).

香港規劃師學會國際規劃論壇2025將於2025年5月8日(星期四)舉辦,旨在展示來自世界各地的規劃實踐和重要的發展計劃。本次論壇的主題為「城造•未來新視野」,將探討創新、可實踐和可持續的城市規劃與管理解決方案,並涵蓋多個熱門規劃議題。本次論壇將分享不同國家的宏觀規劃策略和實際案例研究,包括關於城市空間規劃及人工智能應用的實踐經驗。

翌日,香港規劃師學會將於2025年5月9日(星期五)在香港舉辦城市導賞活動,並於2025年5月10日至11日(星期六及星期日)舉辦珠海調研考察團。

Join us for an enriching tour of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WestK) on May 9! As one of the largest and most ambitious cultural hubs in the world and Hong Kong’s new cultural tourism landmark, WestK is spanning 40 hectares alongside Victoria Harbour. WestK comprises a mix of landmark arts and cultural facilities, including world-class museums M+ and the Hong Kong Palace Museum, intricately designed performing arts venues the Xiqu Centre and Freespace, the 11-hectare Art Park with a waterfront promenade, and the upcoming WestK Performing Arts Centre.

Led by representatives from the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, the tour will begin with a sharing of the design concept and vision behind WestK, as well as its latest developments. Following the introduction, participants will then have the choice to join the guided tour at M+ or the Hong Kong Palace Museum. Participants can learn more about the exhibitions, collections, and architectural features in each of the respective museums through the experiences.

Join HKIP for an exclusive 2-day professional tour on May 10 -11 in Zhuhai. This tour offers unparalleled insights into the dynamic developments of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and technological advancements in low-altitude operations/urban air mobility. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the size of China's low-altitude economy was estimated at around 70 billion USD in year 2023, with projections rising to 275 billion USD by 2030.

The first day will kick off with a VIP tour at the Zhuhai Planning Exhibition Hall, where you will discover the latest urban planning initiatives transforming Zhuhai. In the afternoon, participate in a thought-provoking conference covering topics such as GBA regional planning, heritage conservation and the burgeoning low-altitude economy, follow by two insightful panel discussions on International Bay Area Regional Planning and Development and Smart City/Resilient City. These sessions will foster meaningful dialogues between global and national planning experts, providing participants with diverse perspectives and innovative ideas.

On the second day, join our visit to the Institute of Urban Planning & Design to discover the cutting-edge applications of low-altitude operations in planning and city governance. You will continue your journey at Modulo Space, to experience the impactful applications of large data models across various sectors. You will also enjoy a behind-the-scenes operations of China’s first sightseeing eVTOL flight routes around the Islands, complemented by a live demonstration of eVTOL flight. Finally, delve into the nation’s first research and development base for unmanned ships, exploring innovative planning and practical applications of unmanned ship. This tour is designed to empower our participants to reimagine the future of planning.

Price: $1,200 (Early Bird)/ $1,500 per person

The tour includes all exclusive guided tours, the conference fee, a one-way transportation from Hong Kong to Zhuhai, local transportations, 1 night accommodation at a 4-star hotel with breakfast included and all the meals during the trip. You will meet the host at the lobby of the Langham Hotel at 8:00am on May 10 and dismiss in Zhuhai at around 1:30pm. After dismissal, transportation to Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Zhuhai Port or Jiuzhou Port are available upon request.
