Child-friendly city is defined as “a local system of good governance committed to fulfilling children’s rights.” (UNICEF, 1990). As children’s capacities develop gradually throughout childhood, we as adults play a crucial role in ensuring children’s well-being and holistic development.  Child-friendly planning does not only lean on safekeeping of the kids, but also requires recognition of children’s right for recreation, participation and contribution. In this month’s issue, we are going to review how child-friendly city become accredited in other cities.
