2023 Planner Trainee - Urban Renewal Authority

The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake urban renewal in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government.  The URA adopts a holistic approach to urban renewal with redevelopment and rehabilitation as its core businesses.

URA is keen on acquiring young talents from the market who can be groomed to become professionals of the organization to contribute to its further development.  We are now offering Planner Trainee (“PT”) opportunities to provide recent graduates with excellent exposure for personal growth and a bright start-up on a professional career path.

High-calibre graduates who aspire to develop a promising career are welcome to join URA. We are looking for the following attributes among our candidates:

 

  • possess a recognised degree in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Urban Analytics or related qualification from a Hong Kong or overseas university or equivalent

  • graduated in 2022 or 2023 with less than one year’s working experience

  • have strong analytical and interpersonal skills; mature, innovative, driven, willing to learn and technology savvy

  • be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)

 

Suitable candidates will be engaged in our 2-year Planner Trainee Programme (PTP) starting as early as August 2023.  PTP is a tailor-made programme which provides structured on-the-job training and exposure to nurture high-calibre talents to be qualified planners.   

 Throughout the programme period, you will be trained to acquire further job knowledge and perform tasks and duties on planning of urban renewal projects.  You will also be rotated to other Divisions and Departments for gaining a holistic view on urban renewal process.  Dedicated mentors from senior management team will be assigned to manage your career development progress during and after the programme. You will receive strong support for attainment of planner qualification including day release for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and related activities where applicable in accordance with prevailing policies.
