Post Specification
Project Associate – Spatial Stream
(Starting with a 3-month appointment, with potential for extension)

Duties
The appointee will be required to:

(a)          Research on the subjects of spatial planning, social needs and social innovation to develop creative inter-disciplinary solutions to the social issues raised;

(b)          Participate in multi-discipline projects including masterplanning, urban design, environmental planning and land use studies.

(c)         Coordinate and facilitate participatory co-design workshop;

(d)          Liaise with scholars, designers, researchers within PolyU and coordinate with external stakeholders, such as members of the community, civic groups, government bodies, corporations, media, charities, social enterprises and NGOs;

(e)          Prepare, present and publish project materials through JCDISI website, digital archive, social media platform, exhibition and publication;

(f)         Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor, Director of JCDISI or his deputy.

 Qualifications

(a)          Degree Holder or above in Town Planning or related disciplines;

(b)          Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

(c)         Self-motivated and be able to work under significant pressure;

(d)          Solid research skills, able to contribute to trans-disciplinary discussions;

(e)          Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills;

(f)         Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, Photoshop, SketchUp and other latest graphic design / presentation software; and

(g)          Available to start in early Nov.
