Planning and Design Competition on Transitional Housing in Hong Kong
The Young Planners Group is organizing an exciting brand-new event this year, namely the “Planning and Design Competition on Transitional Housing in Hong Kong”.
The persistent shortage of housing in Hong Kong has been an alarming issue for years especially for the low-income groups awaiting for Public Rental Housing allocation. As a response, the Government stepped up its efforts in supporting and facilitating the provision of transitional housing to alleviate the hardship faced by the vulnerable individuals/ households. Through the delivery of the Planning and Design Competition, we wish to encourage young planners to actively be involved in and contribute to the transitional housing development in Hong Kong.
We are now calling for innovative planning ideas, from site selection to the formulation of a design scheme, to create a well-connected, supportive, efficient and smart solutions for transitional housing development in Hong Kong, which could inspire operators and stakeholders to plan for people-oriented and quality transitional housing in the future.
The Planning and Design Competition is open to ALL students and members of YPG, as well as young members in relevant fields (please refer to the competition brief).
